Google celebrates 100 years of Japanese immigration in Brazil

We all love doodles from Google. To celebrate 100 years of Japanese immigration in Brazil, Google was very thoughtful to come up with a nice doodle on their homepage.
The doodle was featured 18th June 2008, which 100 years ago the Kasato Maru ship brought the first Japanese immigrants (791 people – mostly farmers) to the Santos port from the Japanese port of Kobe. Most of them became laborers on coffee plantations.
Brazil is the biggest colony of Japanese people outside Japan, and they are mainly concentrated in Sao Paulo City.
Sao Paulo city also has the biggest colony of Italians outside Italy, so in other words, if you come from Sao Paulo (like me) you must be either from Italian background or Japanese (I think you know my background by my name
